Showrooms are lit and laid out around the product.

A showroom has one job: let a customer judge the product accurately and walk far enough in to find it. That makes lighting quality and sightlines the two decisions everything else follows — and both have to be settled before the ceiling closes. Published rate: ₹1,800 to ₹3,500 per sq ft, delivered in 4 to 6 weeks. AlcorOne runs showroom, office and clinic fit-outs across Madhapur, HITEC City, Kondapur, Gachibowli and central Hyderabad.

Lighting is the product's credibility.

Everything else in a showroom is reversible. A lighting layout committed into a closed ceiling is not.

Wherever finish or shade forms part of the purchase — tiles, fabric, paint, apparel, jewellery, automotive, furniture — colour rendering is the difference between a product that reads correctly and one a customer quietly rejects for reasons they cannot articulate. A low-CRI fitting makes accurate stock look wrong, and no amount of display joinery recovers that. So beam angle, mounting height, track runs and circuit grouping are resolved against the display layout while the ceiling is still open, because a track set a metre from where the shelving actually landed cannot be moved later without reopening finished ceiling and repainting. The second decision is the sightline. A showroom is designed from the doorway inward: what a customer registers in the first three seconds, and whether the deepest part of the floor is visible at all, determines how far in they walk. That means display heights stepping down toward the entrance, no full-height unit interrupting the view to the back wall, and the highest-value display sited where the eye lands rather than wherever the wall happened to be free.

Colour rendering first

CRI, beam angle and mounting height specified against the product being sold — resolved before the ceiling is closed, not after.

Sightlines from the door

Display heights stepping down toward the entrance and a clear view to the back wall, so customers walk the full floor.

Storage-to-display ratio

Back-of-house and stock space sized honestly at planning, because a showroom short of storage ends up storing on the shop floor.

What a showroom floor actually takes.

Retail wear is not residential wear, and it does not fail dramatically. It fails in lanes.

A showroom floor absorbs abrasion no home floor ever sees, plus trolley and pallet traffic if goods move across it. The characteristic failure is a traffic lane that dulls unevenly within a year while the perimeter still looks new — which reads as neglect rather than wear, and cannot be spot-repaired. So the floor is specified against expected footfall, the cleaning regime the staff will realistically follow, and whether anything is wheeled over it, with transitions, thresholds and skirting detailed deliberately because those are the first things to lift in a retail environment. The same logic runs through the rest of the specification. Display joinery takes daily handling and gets rearranged, so carcass grade and fixing method matter more than they would in a home; a facade and signage sit outdoors in Hyderabad's sun and monsoon and are specified for it; the cash and billing counter carries cabling, a point-of-sale unit and continuous contact, so it is built as a working station rather than a piece of furniture. Where the unit sits inside a mall, the centre's fit-out approval, hoarding standard and night-work windows govern the programme — the same submission process the kiosk page describes.

What retailers ask us.

What does a showroom fit-out cost in Hyderabad?

A showroom is priced on our retail store rate — ₹1,800 to ₹3,500 per sq ft, delivered in 4 to 6 weeks, covering storefront, wall bays, cash counter and flooring. Where the brief carries heavy display joinery, specialist product lighting or a fabricated facade, the figure sits at the upper end; a straightforward space with modular display systems sits at the lower.

Why is lighting the biggest decision in a showroom?

Because the product is what the customer came to judge, and lighting decides whether it can be judged accurately. Colour rendering matters for anything where finish or shade is part of the purchase — tiles, fabric, paint, jewellery, apparel, automotive — and a low-CRI fitting makes a correct product look wrong. Beam angle, mounting height and track position have to be resolved against the display layout before the ceiling is closed, because a track in the wrong place cannot be moved afterwards without reopening finished work.

How do sightlines change a showroom layout?

A showroom is designed from the doorway inward. What a customer sees in the first three seconds — and whether the deepest part of the floor is visible at all — determines how far into the space people walk. That means display heights stepping down toward the entrance, no full-height unit blocking the sightline to the back wall, and the highest-value display placed where the eye lands rather than where the wall happens to be free.

What flooring holds up in a Hyderabad showroom?

Whatever the footfall and the trolley traffic actually demand. A showroom floor takes abrasion no residential floor sees, and the failure is rarely dramatic — it is a traffic lane that dulls unevenly within a year while the perimeter still looks new. Specification is therefore made against expected footfall, cleaning regime and whether goods are wheeled across it, with transitions and skirting detailed because that is where a retail floor fails first.

Do you handle showroom fit-outs alongside offices in the same building?

Yes — AlcorOne runs office fit-outs, office upgrades and showrooms across Madhapur, HITEC City, Kondapur and Gachibowli, including partitioning, cabins, workstations, MEP coordination and launch-ready handover under one accountable team. Central-Hyderabad work across Khairatabad, Somajiguda, Lakdikapul and Punjagutta covers offices, clinics and showrooms on the same basis.

Can a showroom be refitted without closing it?

Usually yes, in zones. The floor is divided so trading continues in one part while another is sealed behind dust-tight hoarding, with noisy and dusty work moved to off-hours and the display relocated ahead of each phase rather than during it. It runs longer than an empty-unit fit-out and costs more in protection and remobilisation, so where a short full closure is commercially possible it is normally both faster and cheaper.

We will come back on the lighting specification the product actually needs, a display and sightline approach for the floor, flooring suited to the footfall, and what is still needed before a fit-out programme can be dated.
