Maximizing the Coastal View

The primary goal of a Vizag balcony is to enjoy the view. If your builder has installed bulky, opaque concrete walls or heavy metal railings, you are missing out.

• Toughened Glass Railings: The modern standard for sea-facing apartments is frameless or SS-framed toughened glass railings. They provide complete safety while offering an unobstructed, 100% transparent view of the coastline, even when you are seated.
• Invisible Grills: If you need safety grills for children but hate the "prison" look of thick iron bars, consider "invisible grills." These are high-tensile stainless steel cables installed at close intervals. They are incredibly strong, rust-proof, and practically vanish against the background view.

Weather-Resistant Furniture

The balcony is exposed to intense morning sun, heavy monsoon rain, and highly corrosive salt air. Standard interior furniture will be destroyed here.

1. Custom Storage and Seating

If you want a built-in seating bench with storage, or a bar counter on the balcony, you cannot use standard MDF or Commercial Plywood. We mandate WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) or BWP Marine Plywood for all balcony joinery. WPC is completely waterproof and termite-proof.

2. Hardware that Survives

Any hinges or channels used in balcony storage must be SS 304 grade stainless steel. Mild steel hardware will rust shut within a single monsoon season due to the salt air.

Flooring and Greenery

The balcony floor takes a beating from the weather.

• Anti-Skid Tiles: Never use polished marble or smooth indoor tiles on a balcony; they become dangerously slippery when wet. Use textured, exterior-grade vitrified tiles.
• Artificial Turf vs. Real Plants: Artificial turf adds a beautiful green pop and requires zero maintenance. If you prefer real plants, use heavy, low-center-of-gravity terracotta or concrete planters that will not tip over during strong cyclonic winds.

## Material Grades: Choosing the Right Plywood Selecting the wrong wood grade for a specific area is the primary cause of premature interior failure.
