Shutter options — laminate (most durable, lowest maintenance), PU finish (premium look, scratches show), acrylic (high gloss, fingerprint-heavy).
Wire management: Plan a 63 mm conduit sleeve through the TV wall before any plaster or joinery work begins. Running cables behind a finished wall costs ₹3,000–8,000 extra and usually leaves visible patching marks.
Step 3: False Ceiling — Heights and Design
Most Hyderabad apartments have a builder ceiling height of 9.5–10 ft (2,896–3,050 mm). NBC mandates a minimum 2,750 mm clear headroom in habitable rooms. This leaves 150–300 mm to work with before you breach the standard.

Step 5: Lighting — Three Layers
Living room lighting should always be planned in three layers. A single tube light or recessed grid reads as a utilitarian office, not a home.
